Brutalizing children: The Untouchables (art installation)

art crucified childrenCuban artist Erik Ravelo’s art series “The Untouchables” – photographs of children crucified by their oppressors. The artist is affirming the right of children to be protected and to report abuse, especially in countries such as Brazil, Syria, Thailand, United States and Japan.

Clockwise from top left: 

The first image refers to pedophilia in the Vatican.

Second, child sexual abuse for tourism in Thailand. 

The third refers to the war in Syria.

The fourth image refers to the trafficking of organs on the black market, where most of the victims are children from poor countries.

The fifth refers to freely-accessible weapons in the U.S. 

The sixth image refers to obesity, promoted by the big fast food companies.
